UPCOMING EVENTS

March 29: The Pittsburgh Pirates and Bradenton Marauders are accepting registrations for the third annual Baseball Basics for Women clinic. The clinic, intended for young adult and adult women interested in learning or refining their baseball fundamentals, will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. March 29 at McKechnie Field. The cost is $40. Major league and minor league players and coaches will instruct participants in hitting, catching, running the bases and fielding. Each participant will receive a T-shirt, a ticket to the March 31 spring training game against the Baltimore Orioles and dinner provided by Gecko's Grill and Pubs after the clinic. April 7: Bath & Racquet Fitness Club will introduce parents and their kids to the 2012 summer camp program with a free kick-off party from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. April 7 at the club, 2170 Robinhood St., Sarasota. There will be tennis and racquetball clinics for kids, a bounce house and information areas where camp staff will answer questions about the 10 camp program options: tennis, squash, racquetball, scuba, dance, science, movie-making, reading, spa, counselor in training. April 14-15: Junior golfers ages 11-18 are invited to compete in the Arrowhead Junior Golf Tour's Links on the Bayou Junior Classic on April 14-15 in Alexandria, La. April 20-21: The Sarasota chapter of Coastal Conservation Association will host its 17th annual Photo All-Release Challenge fishing tournament April 20-21 at the Sarasota County Fairgrounds. Angler registration begins at 6 p.m. April 20 at the Potter Building with a mandatory angler meeting at 7:30 p.m. The tournament features a catch-photo-release format for snook, redfish and trout with anglers using identical boxes of lures and flies that will be provided. Fishing begins at 7 a.m. April 21, and all anglers must turn in there digital images at New Pass Grill & Bait Shop between 2-3 p.m. The cost is $85 per angler, $100 after April 6, and $30 for youth anglers 12 and younger. Ongoing: Champions MMA, 1980 First St., offers several classes to keep children active as well as build and maintain confidence and a positive attitude. Lil Champions Kids Classes for ages 4-8 are held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays. Champions Youth Classes for ages 9-13 are held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays. INLINE HOCKEY
